Driving Data Culture in Schools
Bei Shan Tang Foundation: Educator Professional Development
Project Overview
Bei Shan Tang Foundation partnered with us to design and deliver a comprehensive data-driven decision-making workshop for 49 educators and social sector practitioners. The goal was to build capacity for creating a collaborative data culture to discuss and use data with the aim of improvement and not judgement.

1 The Challenge
Many educators felt intimidated by data and saw evaluation as an administrative burden rather than a tool for improvement. The Foundation needed an approach that would make data accessible, relevant, and actionable for practitioners with varying levels of statistical literacy.
2 Our Approach
We designed a blended learning experience combining hands-on activities, real-world case studies, and collaborative problem-solving exercises.
The workshop moved beyond technical skills to help educators understand the "why" behind data collection and how it connects to their daily practice.
We created practical tools and templates that educators could immediately apply in their own programs, reducing the barrier to implementation.

3 Key Outcomes
49 educators trained in data-driven decision-making with 95% reporting increased confidence in using data
Development of program-specific evaluation tools that educators continue to use in their practice
Shift in organizational culture toward evidence-based program improvement
Stronger foundation for communicating program impact to funders and community partners
